Engineering News-Record Top 600 Specialty Contractors-2008 Tennessee Electric Company is again ranked as one of the top 600 Specialty Contractors in the U.S. by Engineering News-Record. Our specialty is further recognized by the fact that we rank among the top 10 as E&I only companies who's revenues are primarily derived in the heavy industrial sectors, such as process, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical.

Suppliers Excellence Award 1995-2008

This annual award is given to the supplier that provides Eastman Chemical Company with the materials, equipment, and services of the highest quality and best value possible. In order to receive the Excellence Award, suppliers must provide an on-time delivery rate of material and services equal to or greater than 95%, a 99% rating on Conformance to Specification requirements, and must participate in significant value-adding improvement projects.

Each year, Tennessee Electric supports over 500 maintenance and construction work orders and projects for Eastman Chemical. We achieved a Delivery Performance rating of 96.5 and a Conformance to Specification level of 99.7%.

Tennessee Quality Commitment Award

The Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Award program, which bestows the Tennessee Quality Commitment Award, is open to companies and non-profit organizations throughout Tennessee (some out-of-state organizations are also eligible). The competing organizations are evaluated on the Baldridge National Quality program-based Criteria for Performance Excellence. Nearly 1000 companies enter the program each year. Tennessee Electric is honored to have received this award and we work to maintain that level of excellence everyday.

Community Service

United Way

Tennessee Electric is a proud supporter of the United Way and its members agencies. As part of our culture of supporting the communities we live and work in, Tennessee Electric and our many employees support the United Way through monetary gifts and donation of time to serve various agencies.

Tennessee Electric believes in supporting the communities where our employees and customers work. We have chosen the Unite Way as a vehicle to deliver on this responsibility. In 2009, our CEO, Greg Boehling, chaired the Annual campaign for the United Way of Greater Kingsport, and our company was given an Award of Excellence for our campaign.
